Why did you become a peer mentor?
I became a mentor because I wanted to give back to people who have similar injuries to me. I wanted to let them see that just because you have a spinal cord injury you aren’t confined to a wheelchair. I want people with disabilities to see that your life isn’t over just because you have been injured; I want them to see that life goes on and life can be better than before you were injured. Life isn’t over just because you have a spinal cord injury; I want to show people and tell people that if you want to do something no matter what it can be accomplished!!
