Why did you become a peer mentor?
I have worked in the human services field all of my late adolescent and adult life. I was the director of a residential treatment facility and my license is in clinical social work. After my bicycling accident in the fall of 2010, I was helped by many people, professional and lay. I wish I had had someone like me back then as well. I want to give back and help others to pay forward all the assistance I have received. I’ve mentored already two peers through the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation and co-lead an SCI Support Group for the last four years.
