Why did you become a peer mentor?
I recognized that there are so many people who find themselves, as we did, in a completely new world for which there was no guidebook, a world that seemed like hell to start with. Only through talking with other parents were we able to understand that there is life after paralysis. I want to pass that onto as many other parents as possible and provide the support and resources we were given as parents to our daughter who suffered this injury and upended her world.
